Chester C. Weiker July 2, 1914 - Dec. 25, 1996
Chester C. "Chet" Weiker, 82, formerly of Fourth Street, died Wednesday in Findlay in the home of his daughter.
He was born in Fremont to Charles F. and Edith (Jones) Weiker. On Aug. 29, 1940 he married Evelyn Anderson in Fostoria, and she survives.
Mr. Weiker was a brick mason for over 25 years and was co-owner operator of Minute Man Car Wash in Fremont. He attended Fremont City schools and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He. was a member of Warren AME Church, was on the church building committee, was treasurer of the Trustees, sang in the church choir and was president of the Church Trustees. He was also a member of Brick Layer's Union Local 46.
Survivors include son Phillip A. Weiker of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters Sandra C. Craddolph of Monrovia, Calif., Janice E. Stoops of Findlay, and J. Carol Broyles of Maumee; sisters Sara Howell and Edith Thomas both of Painesville, Margaret Minor of Cleveland, Mamie Anthony of Pasadena, Calif. and Harriet Beal of Fremont; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; brothers Theodore, Rollie, Samuel, and one in infancy; and sisters Beulah Jelks, Gwendolyn Weiker and Eelyn Walker.
Services are 1pm Sunday at the Warren AME Church with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
