Clarence "Donald" Hughes of Cheswold passed away Sunday May 4, 2014 at Renaissance Nursing home in Millsboro, DE.

Mr. Hughes was born September 22, 1925 in Cheswold to the late Edward Hughes and Lettie Hughes.

He had served in the United States Navy for 2 years. Mr. Hughes drove for Hartnett Cement Company for 17 years, as well as driving for Wyoming Block for 5 years. He also had worked for Leeds Travelware and retired at Metal Masters. He continued to work part time at Sam's Club for 17 years. Mr. Hughes enjoyed riding his tractor and gardening. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, being extremely out going and a nice guy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie Hughes in 1999.

He is survived by his children, Janet Marie Ferguson of Camden, Gary Hughes and his wife Melanie of Arlington, VA and Beverly Hughes and her husband Freeman of Chicago; grandchildren, Casey, Stacey, Hunter, Leigha; great grandchildren, Krysten and Mackenzie and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday, May 9, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10). Dover. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be in the Fork Branch Cemetery.
