Edith Esther (Campbell) Gibson was born September 27, 1896, near Lamoni, the eldest daughter of Henry and Emma (Orfield) Campbell. She died June 26, 1991, at the Decatur County Hospital at Leon, Iowa. She was married to Nile Huston Gibson of Lamoni on March 2, 1914. The couple were the parents of three daughters, Vera, Freda and Vivian. She worked for the Grand River telephone office after the children were grown, and later was an assistant clerk at the Grand River Post Office until the 1970's. She joined the Methodist Church at Grand River in April, 1954. Edith was a housewife, and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and fancywork.
