Emma R. Campbell, daughter of William and Mary Orfield, was born February 24, 1877, at Jefferson, Iowa and passed away December 7 at the Leisure Manor nursing home in Osceola at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 13 days.

She was united in marriage March 25, 1894 to Henry Campbell in Decatur, to this union were born 9 children. Her favorite pastime was needlework, for which she had to give up a few weeks before her death. She was a kind and loving mother; her children were her pride and joy. She was affiliated with the Baptist church.

Those who preceded her in death, her husband, Henry, 1952; her son, James, 1960; 5 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her 8 children, 3 sons and 5 daughters, Bill of Murray, Clarence, Lorimor; Lawrence, Des Moines; Edith Gibson, Grand River; Jessie DeVore, Osceola; Margie McBee, Des Moines; Loreda Robinson, Des Moines; one sister, Mary Smith of Leon; 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held December 9 at Watts and Soll Funeral Home. Burial was at Rest Haven cemetery, Des Moines.
