Obituary -
Henry Mortaman Campbell, son of Samuel and Mary Katherine Campbell (should be Sarah Jane Smith, his marriage record states this. Sarah died 1885, his family may not have known her name), was born August 23, 1871, in Decatur county, Iowa, and passed away December 14, 1952, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 16 days, at the residence of his son, James in Indianola.

Mr. Campbell lived practically his entire life in Decatur county and followed farming as his life's occupation. He became a member of the church early in life.

On March 2, 1894, he was united in marriage to Emma Rachel Orfield of Decatur county and to this union nine children were added, four sons and five daughters, all of whom survive: William R. of Murray; Clarence M. of Lorimor; Lawrence H. of Des Moines; James L. of Indianola; Mrs. Edith Gibson of Grand River; Mrs. Jessie DeVore of Osceola; Mrs. Marjorie McBee of Des Moines; Mrs. Velma Palmer of Des Moines and Mrs. Loreda Robinson of Des Moines.

Also surviving are his wife, one brother, Charles of Cincinnati, Ohio; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from The Webster Funeral Home in Osceola, Tuesday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David E. Mathews, Pastor of the Community Bible Church officiating. Interment was in Leon cemetery, Leon, Iowa.
