Clarinda Huetta Johnson Winget was born January 15, 1847 in Winter Quarters, Nebraska. Parents: Benjamin Franklin Johnson and Flora Clarinda Gleason Johnson.

Crossed the plains to the Salt Lake Valley in 1848, age 1, with her mother. Her parents were separated and later divorced. Her mother married Abraham Washburn February 11, 1849 in Salt Lake City for time and eternity. Moved to help settle Manti in November 1849, age 2. She was baptized and was active in the church.

She married Zenos Winget January 5, 1866, age 18, in Manti. She was attractive, kind and considerate, with a strong and humble faith in her Heavenly Father. She was a mother and homemaker.

Moved to Monroe in 1872, age 25. She had poor health from the birth of their first child in November 1866. She died June 22, 1883, age 36, in Monroe, leaving her husband a widower. He married again.

Mother of six children: Zenos, Cyrus Alfonzo, Clarinda Huetta, Catherine Melissa, Zennia Meleta and Benjamin Franklin. Only Cyrus Alfonzo lived to maturity and married. The others died young.
