STANLEY – James Benny Smith, 69, of Stanley died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Jan. 1, 2006.
He was born Aug. 26, 1936, son of the late M. Ben and Hazel Abernathy Smith.
INTERMENT: Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly
Mr. Smith was the owner/operator of Smith Grading Company.
He served in the NC Air National Guard from 1959 to 1968.
Benny was an active member of the McAdenville Baptist Church where he served on the tellers committee for 30 years.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 44 years; son, daughter.
