Edward M. Horton, Sr., 82, of Port Orchard, Wa., passed away on March 4, 2014. Ed was born on March 17, 1931, in Powers, Ore., to Harold and Cynthy Horton. On July 20, 1953, Ed married Sawako Sakurai in Japan. He served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars, and after 21 years retired as a Chief. He went on to work as a Marine Machinist for PSNS and retired after 23 years.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Robert and Harold; daughter, Charlene; brother, Ralph; and sisters, Alice and Billie Ann. Ed's memory will live on with his loving wife of 60 years, Sawako; sons, Edward, Jr. (Erin) and James; daughter, Susan A. Bergman (Jake); six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 8th at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be private at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
