He was the son of Edward Milo Horton and Alice C. Huntsinger and grew up in Park Rapids, Hubbard Co., Minnesota. He married at age 20, Freda, and they were living in Missoula Montana in 1910 with Harold's parents. About 1920, at age 37, he remarried 22 year old Cynthy [Persons] Miller, who had two small children. They lived in Powers, Coos Co., Oregon on the 1930 and 1940 Census. After his death, his widow remarried Lester T. May, of Port Orchard. Children of Harold and Cynthy Horton were Alice May and Edward M. Horton.
