Canadice, N. Y. - The death of Alva J. Caskey, who had been in failing health for the past two years, occurred at his home on Friday afternoon, aged 71 years.
He was born in the town of Richmond. He married Miss Phoebe Chapman, of this town where the greater part of his life was passed. He is survived by his wife, one son, Edgar Caskey of Chicago, Ill.; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Mary Klinefeller of East Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Willard and John Caskey, of this place; and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Purcell of Linwood and Mrs. Sarah Coykendall of Mumford.
The funeral was held from the church on Sunday and was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. W. J. Brown, who returned from conference to officiate. The sympathy of the community is extended to the aged wife.
