Mrs. Rachel E. Foster, 89, of 811 E. Monroe died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday at Mennonite Hospital. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Metzler Memorial Home, with the Rev. Raye Ragan officiating. Burial will be In Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the memorial home after 2 p.m. Thursday. She was born in Bloomington Oct. 10, 1876, a daughter of Fletcher and Charlotte Pray Brigham. She was married to William H. Foster Feb. 19, 1896, in Bloomington. He died May 18, 1946. Surviving are two sons, William L. Foster, 811 E. Monroe; F. Russell Foster, 1412 S. Main; two daughters, Mrs. F. Rachel Wolff, 1109 ½ S. Main; Mrs. Mary L. Perschall, 1416 S. East; two sisters. Mrs. Charlotte Swallow, 420 N. Main. Normal; Miss Annie J. Brigham, Oaks Apartments, 301 E. Grove; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, a brother and three sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church, Chapter 50, Order of Eastern Star, the Blooming Grove Ladies Aid and was a charter member of the Happy Hour Garden Club.
