Francis A. Moody, 63, of 637 17th St., Rock Island, was found slumped over the steering wheel of his auto in the parking lot of the Eagle Signal co., 726 Federal St., Davenport, yesterday afternoon.
He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport, where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 3:45 p.m. Mr. Moody had worked yesterday at the Davenport firm.
Death apparently was caused by a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 1 Friday afternoon in the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, with the Rev. George Clark, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight, and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
Mr. Moody was born June 16, 1898, in Davenport, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Moody. He received his education in Muscatine, and had resided for more than 45 years in Rock Island.
He married Violet P. Luckhardt March 23, 1920, in Muscatine. Mr. Moody was employed as an inspector for the Eagle Signal firm. He was of Protestant faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Violet C. Neff of Rock Island and Mrs. Martha C. Harrington of Davenport; a son, Francis G. Moody of Rock Island; a sister, Mrs. Martha J. Eaves, Rock Island; two brothers, Chris E., Milan, and LeRoy C., Downey, Calif., and three grandchildren.
His parents, wife, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
