Obit: Harriet C Miller, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Ringlief Baier, was born in Audubon County, east of Exira, IA and died at the New Homestead in Guthrie Center, IA at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 9 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended rural school in Audubon County. Harriet then worked as a telephone operator for Northwester Bell in Audubon.

On March 17, 1927 she was united in marriage to Harvey Miller in Atlantic, IA. They farmed in Audubon County, then later moved to Lake City, IA and then to Guthrie Center, IA in 1947. Harriet was employed again as a telephone operator for the United Telephone Company until she retired in 1963. Harvey died January 30, 1981. She maintained her own home and then following a long illness became a resident of the Community
Care Center in Stuart, IA in December of 1988 and moved to the New Homestead in Guthrie Center in March of 1989.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her brothers and sisters: Albert Baier, John Baier, Otto Baier, Edward Baier, Emma Brade, Ella Brady, Marie Campbell and Dorothea Johnson. Survivors include her sons and their wives: Charles (Betty) Miller of Menlo, IA; Robert (Bonnie) Miller of Buckeye, AZ; her great grandchild, Zebadiah Miller of Buckeye, AZ; her sisters: Lena Burns of Audubon, IA; Nora Farrell of CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
