As the Kerfoots made their way north into Pennsylvania, they resided in various locations along the way: Markleton in Somerset County; South Connellsville (White Rock) in Fayette County; Monongahela in Washington County; and Dravosburg in Allegheny County.
On August 14, 1900, Daniel married Annie S. Given. The marriage was performed by the Rev. W. T. Robinson in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
Their first child was born in November, 1900. Three months later, the child died of quincy; a bacterial infection of the tonsils (usually a complication of tonsillitis).
On January 19, 1902, Annie gave birth to a daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Kerfoot. Two years later, on January 26, 1904, Daniel and Annie welcomed another daughter, Anna Marie Kerfoot.
On February 3, 1907, Daniel was diagnosed with pneumonia. Over the next week, his condition worsened. On February 15, 1907, at 6:00 PM, Daniel died at his home in Dravosburg. The cause of death was listed as double pneumonia. He was 25 years old.
On Sunday, February 17, 1907, Daniel was buried in Monongahela Cemetery in Washington County. He is buried in the same lot as his mother. His grave is unmarked.
