Services for Eduardo "Eddie" Espinosa, 69 of Ruidoso, NM were held Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, New Mexico. Rosary began at 10:00 am followed by the funeral Mass. Father Paul Nkumbi will officiate.
Eddie died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Albuquerque following an illness. He was born July 8, 1943 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Juan and Adela (Flores) Espinosa. He grew up and attended school in Vaughn, NM graduating with the class of 1961.
He married Esther Gauna in 1964, they made their home in Ruidoso, NM where Eddie served as a Lieutenant with the Ruidoso Fire Department. He also owned and operated Eddie's Heating and Cooling for several years.
Eddie enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church in Ruidoso.
Eddie is preceded in death by his mother, Adela Espinosa, his father and step-mother Juan and Cleo Espinosa, brothers Pete Espinosa, Ernest Espinosa, Gilbert Espinosa, sisters Irene Espinosa, Frances Espinosa, and Elizabeth Espinosa.
Survivors include his wife Esther Espinosa of Ruidoso, NM, a daughter Sheila Davis and husband Dennis of Ruidoso, three sons Kenny Espinosa of Ruidoso, Martin Espinosa and wife Kristi of Ruidoso, and Daniel Espinosa and wife Elizabeth Fierro of Albuqueque. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Kara Espinosa, Kymbra Espinosa, Matthew Davis, Natalia Espinosa, Sidney Davis, Desirae Espinosa, Elijah Espinosa, Levi Britting, and Caleb Britting. Also surviving are two sisters Anita Perea of Santa Fe, Raymie Hernandez of Albuquerque, three brothers Johnny Espinosa of Rio Rancho, Paul Espinosa of Roswell, and Eliseo Espinosa of Springer, NM, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N. Fifth Street; Fort Sumner, NM (575) 355-2311.
