Kate Squires Parkinson, 90, of Brigham City, Utah, passed away December 12, in Brigham City.

Mrs. Parkinson was born June 7, 1896 in Hyrum, Utah, the daughter of James Henry and Christine Anderson Squires.

She married Sedley W. Parkinson on February 24, 1916 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. He died in 1981. They had lived in Idaho and Utah.

Mrs. Parkinson had been active as a teacher and counselor. She developed many talents during her lifetime, including singing, barbering, pianist, and playing the guitar. After her husband's death she took up art and enjoyed painting portraits.

Survivors include Ted J., Salt Lake City; Leo H., Pocatello, Id.; Selma Dixon, serving an L.D.S. mission in Tonga; Ruby Stewart, Twin Falls;Phyllis Jensen, Orem, Utah; Ralph, Arco, Idaho; Jim, Layton, Utah; Byron, Brigham City, Utah; and Christine Carroll, Littleton, Colorado; 56 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. One son, Lynn, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held in Brigham City, Utah December 15. She was buried in the Hyrum City Cemetery at Hyrum, Utah.
