On the 1871 Canada Census Moral & Peter are not listed with their parents and siblings who are living @ Malahide, Elgin East, ON. The family: Benjamin Beckett 55 (farmer)(Religion: Quaker); Tamzon Beckett 51; Eliza Jane Beckett 24; Mary Ann Beckett 20; Edward Beckett 17. Tamazon and the children were all members of the Methodist Episcopal faith.

On the 1906 Alberta Census  Moral Beckett 62 was  living in the town of Red Deer with his brother, Daniel H. Beckett, 61, b. Ontario. Daniel was married to Caroline, 57, and their children, Ernest L., 25, Waitland J., 23, M. Leslie,19, Alberta B., 18.

Note: Moral Beckett was showing as born in the USA, however, the family seemed to be living in Ontario on all census records. As he was listed last on the census records of the Beckett family, it was likely an error of the census taker, who used "- ditto down the column, for the children.

Obituary Notices

Moral Beckett, brother of D.H. Beckett, passed away on Tuesday evening last aged 67. Deceased had led a roving life, and was injured by a fall ten or twelve years ago, breaking his hip and crippling him for life. About five years ago he came to his brother's in Red Deer, and has since resided here. A short time ago he was taken with consumption of the glands. The funeral took place on Thursday morning to the Red Deer cemetery, Rev. Mr. Huestis conducting the service.
