LOUIS O. BRANDES, SR.

Louis Brandes Sr., 72, of Reedsville, died Tuesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John and St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Harvey Heckendorf will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brandes was born Aug. 16, 1894 in the Town of Woodville, Calumet County, son of the late August and Augusta Zarnke Brandes. He married Anna Riemer Jan. 6, 1916, and the couple observed its golden wedding
anniversary in 1966. The couple farmed in Rockland for 25 years and then moved to Reedsville where Mr. Brandes worked as a cheesemaker.

Survivors include his wife, five sons, Lester of Plymouth, Norman, Elroy and Ralph of Brillion and Louis Jr., of Rt. 1, Reedsville; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Luella) Zachowski of Forest Junction and Mrs. Herman Bernice Zastrow and Mrs. Lawrence (Delores) Peik of Reedsville;
a sister, Mrs. Anna Lautenschlaeger of Appleton; 28 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until time of service.
