Mrs. Amanda M. Whittington, 77, 4323 La Luz St., died Monday in a local hospital. She was a member of the Methodist Church and had been a resident of El Paso for a year having moved here from Memphis, Texas. Survivors include four sons, Jess E. Whittington, Lakeview, Texas; R.D. Whittington, Cloudcroft, N.M.; H.J. Whittington, Columbus, Ohio, and Earl Whittington, Los Angeles, Calif., all of whom were in El Paso at the time of her death; and two sisters. Funeral arrangements were pending with Harding and Orr Funeral Home.

The body of Mrs. Amanda M. Whittington, 77, of Memphis, Texas, who died Monday in a local hospital, will be sent by Harding and Orr Funeral Home Wednesday to Memphis for funeral arrangements and burial under direction of Murphy-Spicer Funeral Home.

MEMPHIS, Aug. 19 (Spl). - Mrs. Amanda M. Whittington, 77, former Hall County resident who died Monday in El Paso, was buried in Fairview Cemetery after funeral services here Thursday afternoon.

She was born in Tennessee and came to Hall County in 1919. She had been making her home in El Paso about two years.

Survivors include four sons, Jess Whittington of Lakeview, Bob Whittington of Cloudcroft, N.M., Homer Whittington of Columbus, Ohio, and Earl Whittington of California, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
