EVANS
John D. Evans, 81, retired blacksmith of 308 North Walnut Street, died at 10am Monday in the Lima Memorial Hospital following complications extending over six weeks.
The deceased, a son of James and Levina Evans, was born June 20, 1875, in Van Wert. He was married August 15, 1896. Mr. Evans was a member of the AME Church on North Market Street and of the Samuel Clark chapter of Masons at Lima.
Surviving are his widow, Stella; a son, Harry Evans of North Race Street, and two grandchildren. Two sons, three daughters, four brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the Knoll-Brickner-Didrick Funeral Home.
Rites will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday at the funeral home, Rev. Clark Price to officiate. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery.
