Harry C. Evans, 52, of 318 N. Race St., died at 9:30pm Sunday in Veterans Hospital at Fort Wayne. He had been ill for two years.
A son of the late John and Estella (Dungey) Evans, he was born June 21, 1916, in Van Wert. He served in World War II and was employed as a trackman on the Penn Central Railroad. Mr. Evans attended the Bethel AME Church.
Surviving are his widow, Della Mae (Jones) Evans, whom he married Nov. 1, 1947; two daughters, Patricia and Ruth at home. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Wednesday at the Alspach Funeral Home, the Rev. Annie Jackson of Lima to officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.
