Ola Mae Pearl Bell Herod, was married to Glen Ray "Red" Herod, Sr. and had nine children; Margaret Freidkin, Glenn Ray Herod, Jr., Jan O'Quinn Goodnight, Dewey Herod, Deborah Childs, Laree Herod, Mary Beth Martin, Martha Salazar, and Melinda Griffin. They had eleven grandchildren. Ola Mae was a stay at home mother who had a knack for making something out of nothing, the original recycler. She died in 1983 from complications of coronary artery disease and stroke. She was cremated, but then her remains were interred in the family plot at Resthaven Cemetary in Southland, TX. A headstone was placed by her husband Glen. She was much loved and is much missed.
