He was a member of First Baptist of Westbury, NY, and became a Deacon in 1979. Later he moved and joined Faith Baptist Church of Coram, NY. In 1988 he moved back to Duncan, SC, and reconnected with Greater Hopewell Baptist Church.
He was a retired employee of Florasynth, Inc. with 37 years of service as a Plant Manager.
Surviving along with his wife are his daughters, Ruby Moore of Greer, SC, Clarissa Smith, Vanessa Purcell of Duncan, SC; sons, William Fowler, Sr., Scottie Fowler, Sr. of Duncan, SC; sisters, Bernice Drummond, Hazel Fowler of Duncan, SC, and Hattie Mae Tarpley of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday December 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, with burial in the Westwood Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday December 13, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
