Ruth and Arthur were the parents of 5 children.
Ruth was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Grafton, Jersey County, Illinois.
She was a member of the Jersey County Republican Women's Club and worked many elections over the years.
Arthur passed away in 1967 at the age of 54. He was buried at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Grafton.
Ruth lived until late 2007 when she died at Willow Rose Rehabilitation and Health Care at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 24 days.
She was survived by 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law; 2 sons; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father; 3 sisters, Etta Ketchum, Agnes Daniels and Lorena Dobson; and 2 brothers, Francis Banfield and Wilbur Banfield.
Visitation was held on 07 Dec 2007 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services were conducted there at 10 a.m. the following morning.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
