A service for Richard M. Alway, a longtime railroad worker, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd. Roseville. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today and begin again at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Roseville man died Wednesday at the age of 70. Born in Wyoming, he had lived in Roseville since 1936 and had been a carman for 35 years with Pacific Fruit Express. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America 642. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Alway in 1982. He is survived by two sons, Richard R. Alway of Roseville and Arthur W. Alway of Hayward; two brothers, Lester Alway of Colorado and Robert Alway Citrus Heights; three sisters, Burnace Tomkins of Roseville, Dorothy Noble of Colorado and Catherine Beauregard of Sonora; seven grandchildren. The Rev. Roy Herndon of the First Baptist Church of Roseville will officiate. Interment will be at Roseville District Cemetery.
