Records say they married in 1740(1 record states 1748), Her birth date is listed on marriage records as 1718. The death date is from Ancestry.com ?.

I haven't found any evidence of them leaving VA. Perhaps they died soon after the Revolutionary War was over. Since that is the last record (1789) we find for John Yates(See his memorial) and they are not listed as living with their sons William, Thomas or James Yates in the 1800-1840's.

Suggested edit: Elizabeth Kilgore did not marry into this Yates family. She is not the mother of my Hannah Yates. She married a John Yates and her John died in North Carolina while my Hannah's father, John, died in Pittsylvania Co., VA and his will was probated there and names his children. The Elizabeth Kilgore who buried her husband John lived in North Carolina and his will names his children with Elizabeth Kilgore and my Hannah is not among their children.

Suggested edit: This John did not marry Elizabeth Kilgore. Marriage record states that the John that md Elizabeth Kilgore was born in 1699 in Virginia and they md in 1848 in Virginia.
John Yates b. 1715 in Virginia md in 1740 in Virginia to a Elizabeth Yates b. 1718 in Virginia.
