Blanche was a beautiful child and was affectionately called Blooma or Bloomie. Her nightgown accidentally caught on fire when she was drying her hair by the fireplace, and she died on her 8th birthday. Blanche was buried at Oakland Cemetery near three of her grandparents and her brother and has a beautiful headstone engraved "Our Darling Baby."
