Oval C. "Toad" Vaughan, 90, Eldon, died June 25, 2000, at Eldon Healthcare.

He was born Nov. 27, 1909, in Tuscumbia, a son of Wilson and Desta Lee Dobson Vaughan. He was married Dec. 13, 1960, in Eldon, to Lela Mae Jones, who died Feb. 25, 1996.

He worked for Eldon Concrete Co. until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of Old Path Church, near Eldon.

Survivors include: three daughters, Esther Dinwiddie and Kathy Irwin, both of Eldon, and Carolyn Allen, Barnett; one son, Wayne Vaughan, Eldon; two stepdaughters, Ailene Bishop, Olean, and Jean Mingus, Eldon; one stepson, Cecil Keeth, Raymore; one brother, Harold Vaughan, Versailles; one sister, Dora Dean Musick, Eldon; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Kenneth Vaughan and Jimmy Vaughan, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Danny Graham will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, near Barnett.
