America and Alfred had 3 daughters:
1. Sarah "Sallie" C., born Dec. 1877 in Ballard Co., married Thomas Jefferson Menser 1896 in Carlisle Co., KY, died 1945 in Ripley Co., MO;
2. Cora, b. Aug 27, 1878, m. Henry Garnett
and her twin
3. Nora, b. Aug 27, 1878, d. 1966, married Thomas McCallister
America died between the 1880 Census and the March 25, 1883 marriage of Alfred to his 2nd wife, Martha Elizabeth Hammons. Alfred's 3rd wife was Mattie Pruitt.
Alfred died Oct. 30, 1925 in Ripley Co., MO
America's sister, Sarah Lyla Middleton Carter, 1st wife of John F. Carter, is also buried here with her twin sons.
This graveyard is on the farm that was owned by America's in-laws James and Elizabeth (Jones) Carter
