Funeral For Clarence Monsen Held Nov. 26

Funeral services for Clarence Monsen, rural Tracy, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Tracy Lutheran church, with the Rev. Richard Peterson officiating.

Monsen died of a heart attack Nov. 23. He had known of his heart condition for several years, but had never previously suffered any severe attacks. He was 56.

He was born March 4, 1902 in Bode, Iowa, the son of Olai and Margrette Monsen. He resided near Bode from birth until the spring of 1913, when he moved with his parents to a farm near Milroy. In 1920 he moved to a farm northwest of Tracy.

He was married Oct. 3, 1928 to Dorothy Marie Schnoor at Tracy. In 1934 he moved with his family to the farm where he resided until death.

Monsen was a member of the Amiret school board from 1944 until after the school consolidation. He was also a member of the ASC for many years.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Otto Nyquist, Jr., Amiret; Mrs. Norman Schoephoester, Marshall; Mrs. Newell Cromwell, Minneapolis; and three sons, Melvin, Kenneth, and Donald of Tracy. Oren Monsen, Tracy, and Mrs. Mabel Rosvold, Milaca, Monsen's brother and sister, also survive.

Attending the services were relatives and friends from area towns, Milaca, St. Paul, Mendale, Oak Park, Benson, Lynd, Lisbon, N.Dak, Milroy, Marshall, Ghent, Amiret, Fenton, Ringstead, Iowa, and Estherville, Iowa.

Pallbearers were: Sander Ludeman, Tracy; John Moon, Amiret; Rolland Hanson, Tracy; Richard Filkins, Tracy; Mark Rowell, Tracy; and Martin Edhe, Tracy.
