James E. Adams, 65, of Punxsutawney, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Adams was born Oct. 23, 1948, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Mervin J. and Gertrude (Bush) Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Diana [sic] L. Adams of Punxsutawney.
He was a member of Pine Creek Independent Baptist Church in Kittanning.
James loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and just working with his hands, building or repairing anything that needed to be fixed.
In addition to his wife, Diana [sic], he is survived by two sons, James W. Adams and wife Shanna and Matthew Adams all of Punxsutawney; three daughters, Kelley Lellock and husband Sterling and Roxanne Adams, all of Punxsutawney and Tasha Salizzoni and husband Mario of Timblin; one brother, Mervin T. Adams and wife Cheri of Palm Coast, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Merle W. Adams.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Dora Evangelical Church, with Pastor Kenneth Alt officiating.
Private interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Porter.
