Bertha Mae (Bee) Cooper, 94, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Red Banks Nursing Home. She was born September 3, 1920, in Winslow, Ind., to the late Charles F. Bee, Sr. and Flora (Minnis) Bee. She was a homemaker and stayed home to raise her six children.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Arthur J. Cooper; daughter, Jeanette Brown; granddaughter, Kimberly Persinger; great-grandson, Corey Coleman; and great-granddaughter, Brandy Nau.
She is survived by her children, Edward Cooper, of Cadiz, Ky., Tyonne Crabtree, of Evansville, Ind., Carol Ann Reed, of Smyrna, Tenn., Donna Allen, of Henderson, Ky., and Karen Sue Ellis, of Evansville, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Osborne, with entombment in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
