Georgia was born April 13, 1928, in Paris, Texas, to Lawson L. and Vera George (Mann) Wood. She graduated from St. Louis High School, St. Louis, Oklahoma. She married Jackie James Lane on June 13, 1947, in St. Louis, Oklahoma, Rev. Glenn E. Bryant Minister of the St. Louis Baptist Church officiating. Georgia loved gardening, raised birds, and was an avid doll collector. She loved to travel and her favorite places were Lake Eufaula and Colorado. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Funeral services for Georgia will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday March 10, 2014 at the Resthaven Funeral Chapel in Shawnee. Rev. Robert Prather Central Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother: Horace Eugene Wood; and one sister: Mary O. Rogers.
She is survived by two sons: James D. Lane and his wife, Jan, of Wichita, KS and Larry J. Lane of Shawnee; one daughter: Jalaina Hurst of Shawnee; six grandchildren: Kara Lane, Natalie and Gary Crownover, Andrea Deatherage and Roy Norris, Ryan and Andrea Hurst, Jared Lane and Jason Lane; 7 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother: Theodore Jackson Wood, of Shawnee; and her two Chihuahuas: Pearlie and Tiny.
