Jeri Akard of Amarillo formerly O'Donnell departed this life on March 2, 2014, at the age of 81 years. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on December 28, 1932, to Fletcher and Ella Jane (Martin) McCause. Jeri married Lonnie R. Akard on March 13, 1957 in Ada, Oklahoma. Jeri received her Master's in Education at East Central Oklahoma in Ada, Oklahoma. Jeri worked as a Probation Officer for Lynn County and was of Protestant Faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are numerous foster children including Robert Akard, Deloris Huffman & Carolyn Akard; sister-in-law Ruby McCause of Amarillo and several nieces and nephews as well as the family members of Lonnie Akard.
Jeri is preceded in death by her husband Lonnie in 2005; parents; two sisters, Velma Lane and Gladys Farr; and three brothers, Harlice, Dee and Clay McCause.
