Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m., at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with Rev. John Green, Rev. W.N. Perkins and Jerry Dechert officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Durst was born Jan. 16, 1913, the daughter of Mac Palmer and Nanny Bell Sutton Palmer. She married Marvin Durst on June 28, 1932, and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and is survived by a daughter, Erna Lee Dechert; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Patsy Durst, seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Durst was preceded in death by six sisters, one brother, a son-in-law, Clayton (Buster) Dechert, and a grand-son-in-law, Timothy Way.
Pallbearers included Matt Dechert, Chris and Kelly Crites, Aaron Way, Justin and Krystin Petsch, Chad Wilson, Kyle Dechert and Andrew Miller. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews.
