Funeral services for Mr. Norman "Bo" Gillis III will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Westview Cemetery in Soperton. Reverend Albert Hill and Reverend John Drake will officiate.

Mr. Gillis, 75, was the son of the late Norman and Atlas Braddy Gillis. He was a native of Soperton, GA; was retired from the National Guard after 25 years of service; a Methodist by Faith, and a full-time farmer. He was preceded in death by his two siblings, Grace Pollette and Carolyn Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Iris Lowe Gillis of Soperton; a daughter, Linda (Gregg) Reece of Scott; a step-daughter, Holly (Roman) Joyce of Pembroke; two step-sons, Russell (April) Hinson of McRae and Josh Hinson of Soperton; one sister, Bobbie Thompson of Soperton; one granddaughter, Christi (Wes) Brantley; seven step-grandchildren, Will Hinson, Kaylyn Hinson, Blake Joyce, Garrett Joyce, Jenna Hinson, Laila Hinson and Trey Kight; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Poole and Camdyn Poole, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
