Mary's parents, Andrew Robertson and Annie Park were born and raised and married in Scotland. Just a couple of years before Mary's birth they immigrated to the United States going first to Mendon in Cache Valley, Utah, and then settling in the mining area of western Wyoming. There Mary was raised and married Rufus Jehu King on May 1, 1903.
Mary and Rufus became parents to three children: Annie, Earl, and Jacob, before moving to Sugar City, Idaho. Rufus died in 1915 leaving Mary with three young children.
Seven years later Mary married Jacob Jehu King, the younger brother of Rufus. They became parents to two children: Robert and Vilma. Robert died at 2 1/2 years old.
Mary died of chronic myocarditis at the age of 47 leaving Jacob to raise their seven year old daughter.
