Jacob Jehu King, 96, of Boise, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, in Capitol Care Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 at the Relyea Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at the Sugar City Cemetery in Sugar City, Idaho. Services are under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel. Jacob was born Jan. 1, 1910 in Cumberland, Wyo. to Rufus and Mary (Robertson) King. After the death of his father, Jacob moved to the Sugar City, Idaho area. His work took him to the St. Anthony, Idaho area where he met and married Sylvia Greenhalgh on June 14, 1934. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived and raised their children in Sugar City. Jacob owned and operated his own trucking company during the years of raising their children. He then used his driving talent to become a bus driver for the Sugar-Salem School District and as custodian for the Sugar City LDS Chapel. Jacob survived the Teton Dam flood in 1976, after which he and his wife moved to Boise, where they have since resided. Jacob regarded his callings in the LDS Church as a service and served in several capacities. He served as a worker with his wife at the Boise LDS Temple for many years. Jacob loved fishing all his life. He had many happy outings with his wife and close friends. He is survived by his children Carol (Jay) Drake of Boise, Idaho Mary Roberts of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Rodney (Charlotte) King of Napa, Calif., and David (Michelle) King of Rigby, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sylvia Greenhalgh King, and an infant son Jacob J. King. Jacob found great joy in his 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Relyea Funeral Chapel, Boise, and Wednesday, August 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, Rexburg, Idaho. The family wishes to thank the many employees at Capital Care Center for their untiring assistance and loving care of our father.
