He was a soldier of the Italian Army during the World War II. Before coming to the United States in 1953, he studied and had a doctorate in law. Upon coming to the U.S., he received a masters in education and taught Spanish and Latin in the Ballston Lake School systems for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Mr. Grillo was a member of the Teachers Union and a communicate of Immaculate Conception Church, Bradt St., Schenectady.
His beloved wife, Emily Grillo, passed away in May of 1987. He leaves behind two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Kim Grillo of Schenectady and Raymond and Leslie Grillo, also of Schenectady; four loving grandchildren, Joshua, Amilia, Anthony and Emily Grillo of Schenectady; two loving brothers in Italy, Antonio and Chiro Grillo; a sister, Pia Grillo, also of Italy and one nephew, Jose Politzi of Argentina. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Grillo and Giovanna Politzi.
