Search Saint John the Baptist Cemetery:

St. John Church was founded in 1830 and was one of the oldest Catholic Churches in the Northeast. In 1921 it became St. John the Baptist. The interior was destroyed by fire in 1967 and it was closed in 2009. The first burials in the cemetery took place in January 1886. There is a section in the cemetery called Potter’s Field. As of 2009 there were over 11,000 burials. The grounds are open 8am - 4 pm. The cemetery is on Brandywine Ave and next to Vale Cemetery. St. Johns is part of the Albany Diocesan Cemeteries group and there is a requested donation for records.
