Following Illness


Mrs. Annie Miller Mims, 74, member of a pioneer Minden and Webster parish family, died at her home here at 6:45 p.m. Sunday following a lengthy illness, and funeral services were conducted at 5 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Green-Kleinegger funeral home with the Rev. G.W. Pomeroy officiating.

She was the widow of the late Dr. David Mims who succumbed two months ago. She was a native of Webster parish and had lived most of her life in Minden. She lived for a number of years in Crowley after she married Dr. Mims but returned to Minden several years ago.

Burial was in the Minden cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. D.W. Stewart, Jr., of Minden; two sons, D. Miller Mims of Baton Rouge and James S. Mims of Natchitoches; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Miller Holmes and Mrs. Stella Miller Roberts of Minden and Mrs. Marie Miller Cupples of Shreveport, and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dr. J.H. Eddy of Shreveport, Dr. William Allums of Shreveport, E.L. Lyon, W.B. David, Weston Miler, Roy Miller, Marion Hargrove of Monroe and C.O. Holland.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. D.M. Baker, L.P. Wren, Joe R. Miller, Dr. Robert Webb, R.F. Durrance, Robert Baker, Leland Mims, and the Board of Stewards of the First Methodist church of Minden.
