Vera Jean Adams, 80 of Pleasant Gap, died of natural causes at Centre Community Hospital on Friday, Sept. 18, 1987.

Born March 3, 1907 in Pleasant Gap, a daughter of Harry V and Jennie Twitmyer Hile. On June 21, 1927, she married Roy H Adams, who died in 1961.

Mrs. Adams graduated from Williamsport School of Business. She worked as secretary to the president at Titan Metal Manufacturing Co., Bellefonte. She had been employed at Penn State as administrative assistant to the dean and financial officer for the College of Business Administration.

She was a member of Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, where she was an organist and active in the choir. At church she was a member of the administrative council, the live wire class, and United Methodist Women. Mrs. Adams was also a member of Pleasant Gap Women’s Club, and was past royal matron with the Order of the Amaranth.

She is survived by two sons: Philip D and David H; two sisters: Mary Hile Tucker and Edith Hile Adams; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
