Mr. Estell was a native of Adair county, where he was born May 13, 1886, son of Alfred W. and Amanda Carter Estell. He had lived in Madison county 51 years. His active life was spent in farming. He and Mrs. Estell had lived on their present farm in Union township the last 36 years.
He was a member of the Methodist church.
Mr. Estell was married Dec. 26, 1909, in Adair county, to Golda E. Beaman, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Wayne Estell of Winterset; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Klingaman of Des Moines, Mrs. Bonnelle Heubrock of Orangevale, Calif., Mrs. Doris Goode of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Verna Turnmire of Osage; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Percy Estell of Winterset and Frank Estell of Greenfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Gray of Greenfield and Mrs. Bessie DeVault of Stuart.
