Aline Holsenbeck Burkett, 87, of San Angelo, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014. She was born Nov. 18, 1926, to A.E. and Fannie Holsenbeck in Grape Creek, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Grape Creek Cemetery.
Aline is survived by her children, Tommy Burkett, Judy and husband Steve Herndon and Jay Burkett; grandchildren Cody Burkett, Heather and husband Trey Johnson and Heath and wife Lindsey Elliott; great-grandchildren Rylee Elliott, Chloe Powell, Olyvia Grace Elliott, Kaitlyn Goolsby and Kameron Goolsby; sisters Bea Williams and Eunice Canton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Aline is also survived by her special friend and caretaker, Jewell Bridges. Aline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.M. "Dude" Burkett Sr.; and numerous other family members.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the entire staff of Sagecrest Nursing Home and Aline's son and caretaker Jay Burkett for their dedicated care and loving support of Aline. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Sagecrest Nursing Home or to the Alzheimer's Association .
