The Holton Weekly Recorder, May 10, 1888:
Moses Siever was born in Rockingham county, Virginia, April 16, 1828, and died at his home, three miles south of Holton, Kansas, May 3, 1888, aged sixty years and seventeen days. Mr. Siever came with his family to this county some seven or eight years ago .... He was connected while living in the east to the Baptist church. He leaves a large family of seven sons and two daughters and a sorrowing wife....
His body was buried in the Holton cemetery.
