Born in Marshall Township. Little Cedar Church baptism records list her sponsors as Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Burkey, Karoline Severson, and P. M. Sathre.

The funeral for Elizabeth I. Nelson will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Marshall Lutheran Church in rural Adams, with the Rev. Donna Joseph officiating. Burial will be in Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery in Adams.

Mrs. Nelson, 90, of Adams, a retired nurse, died Monday night (Jan. 9, 1994) at the Adams Healthcare Center.

Elizabeth I. Sathre was born April 11, 1904, in Marshall Township, Adams and graduated from Adams High School and St. Olaf Lutheran Hospital Training School for Nurses in Austin. She had been a nurse at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester and in the Adams area. On June 25, 1930, she married Lawrence Halverson and he died in 1946. She married Joy L. Nelson March 11, 1950, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams and he died in 1988. Mrs. Nelson was a member of Marshall Lutheran Church, WELCA, Mower County Nurses Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star of Le Roy.

Survivors include a stepson, Loren Nelson of Rochester; a stepdaughter, Marion (Mrs. Vincent) Aaker of LePorte, Minn.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Adams Funeral Home and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
