Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie "Glen" Allen of Colfax will be held at 10:00AM Monday, February 10, 2014 at Colfax Baptist Church in Colfax with Bro. Stephen Richardson, Bro. Kendall Price and Bro. Carl Gulde officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Deville. Friends may call from 5pm Sunday, February 9, 2014 until time for services on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Colfax Baptist Church.

Mr. Allen, 67, was born on March 25, 1946 in Nebo and passed from this life on Saturday February 8, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Mr. was a member of Colfax Baptist Church, Veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service and had a Associates degree in Science. Glen loved to working outside, gardening, farming, hunting, fishing, crawfishing, playing with grandkids, spending time with family and friends and church service and activities. He enjoyed his work as a soil technician and the interaction he had with farmers and the community. Glen believed in conservation of our resources and loved sharing his knowledge. He truck farmed for a period and always grew and gave away a portion to any or person in need.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty Roberts Allen of Colfax; Daughters, Patty Allen Berry and husband Kevin of Katy, Texas, Charlene Allen Anderson and husband Shane of Dry Prong and Carlene Deanne Allen and fiance Chad of Lafayette; Sisters, Lettie Windham of Jena and Margaret Chevallier of Jonesville; Brothers, Jesse S. "Jack" Allen of Shreveport and Wayne Allen of Jena.; Grandchildren, Callie Justine Transier, Richard Mag Transier, Johnnie Dale Anderson, Clara Averia Anderson, Lydia Lorraine Berry, Luke Lloyd Berry, Anna Belle Berry and Samuel Hugh Berry.; Great Grandson, Justin Ray Ranburger.

He was preceded in death by, parents, Hugh Hamilton Allen and Lily Amanda Allen; Brothers, Jim Dave, Tucker, Ross, and Donald Allen and an infant brother; sisters, Nettie Smith, Audie Bradford, Ella Bradford, Lena Hudspeth and Marjorie Allen.

Pallbearers will be, Johnnie Anderson, Mag Transier, Luke Berry, Samuel Berry, Chuck Boyette, Lane Windham, Jeff Davis and Holden Vallee.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Eddie Gatlin, Bruce Rhodes, Todd Vallee, Travis Vallee and a host of loved nephews and nieces.

Memorials may made to the Louisiana Baptist Childrens Home or Church of your choice.
