DELHI - Funeral services for Mrs. Valley Anglin Dupree Sledge, 96, of Delhi were held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 16, 1991, in the First Baptist Church of Delhi with the Rev. Everett Geis officiating.
Burial followed in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi.
Mrs. Sledge died Saturday, December 14, 1991, in the Richland Parish Hospital, Delhi, following a long illness.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Delhi, and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse M. Sledge; three sons, J. D. Sledge, Curtis Sledge and Dan Anglin Sledge; a grandson, and great-grandson.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lurline Sheppard of Enterprise; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Margie Sledge of Delhi and Mrs. Christeen Sledge of Sulligent, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Frank Sheppard, Yorkie Sheppard, John Sheppard, Danny Sledge, Bob Sledge, David Haman, Cleve Ainsworth and Richard Hudson.
Honorary pallbearer was Y. E. Sheppard.
