Evelyn Elizabeth Poole, 85, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 29, 1928 in Tishomingo County, MS.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, at Forrest Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Tishomingo, Ms. with Bro. Hal Holt and Bro. Tommy King officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Grove Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are two sons – Jackie Poole (Mable) Belmont, Ms. and Jimmy Poole (Norma) Corinth, Ms.; son-in-law – Ray Bearden, Booneville, Ms.; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Raymond Gattis; and three sisters, Edna Ruth Hamby, Hazel McCallister and Mildred Ramey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Gattis and Maude Johnson Gattis, her husband, S.A. “Jack” Poole, one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bearden, one granddaughter, Kimberly Lovelace; five brothers, Howard, Woodrow, Wilmer and Ben Gattis and Thomas Smith and four sisters, Geraldine Bostick, Lida Bell Lambert, Christine Dempsey and Irene Neal.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, at Forrest Grove Missionary Baptist Church and until service time on Wednesday.
