Robert arrived in Quebec on 4 June 1634. He was given a concession of land by Pierre Le Gardeur de Repentigny, lord of part of the Beaupré coast and he settled immediately near the Montmorency Falls. Our family records show that he was born in about 1611, in L'eveche of Rochelle, Aunis, France, however there is no proof, so I have not included that information above.

On October 4, 1642, he sold his land in Montmorency, to Guillaume Couillard for one hundred and fifty pounds in cash.

In the spring of 1643, Robert Caron engaged in clearing the Coteau Ste-Geneviève and in 1649 he received the Compagnie des Cent-Associés the official title of owner of the concession of 40 acres.

Mr. D'Ailleboust governor, granted him twenty more acres in 1651.

In 1654, Robert Caron sold his property Coteau Ste Genevieve to settle on the Beaupré coast on land he had chosen and located about a mile from the current Basilica Ste-Anne.

He married Marie Crevet on 25 October 1637, in the Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica. They are the parents of the following (verified with PRDH):
1) Marie (abt 1639-1660) md Jean Picard
2) Jean-Baptiste (1641-1706) md Marguerite Gagnon
3) Robert (1647-1714 md Marguerite Cloutier
4) Marie-Catherine (1649-1725) md (a) Jacques Dodier and (b) Pierre Dupre
5) Joseph (1652-1711) md Marie-Elisabeth-Isabelle Bernier
6) Pierre (1654-1720) md Marie Bernier
7) Aimee (abt 1656-1685) md Noel Langlois dit Traversy

He died at L'Hotel-Dieu de Quebec and was buried in Notre-Dame de Quebec's first cemetery, according to the Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection). This first cemetery of Quebec is located a little over a block away from the cathedral in what is now called historique national du Parc Montmorency on the east side of the wall and is reached by walking down the sidewalk towards lower Quebec.

Please note that someone requested a photo of his headstone, and they forwarded this reply to me from Eman Bonnici #46572312:
"Remains are located in general ossuary, which carries an estimate of 900-1000 people together. No marker stands for this person."
